If you haven’t noticed, gender parties have become increasingly popular. 

With each party becoming bigger and bolder than the last, there is endless planning to ensure it is perfect.

But not every party will go to plan, as American couple Emma and Mitchell realised. 

The couple had been trying to conceive for three years, so when they found out they were having a baby, they knew their gender reveal had to be perfect.

Mum-to-be throws tantrum over husband’s early reveal

In a now-viral TikTok, the happy parents-to-be stood in front of a giant “baby” sign, surrounded by balloons and a sunset backdrop. 

In their hands were confetti poppers, ready to show the world what sex their baby would be. 

The countdown from the crowd began, but before they shouted the final number, someone told them to “wait”. 

But Mitchell was clearly too excited, twisting the confetti popper a second before Emma. 

A shot of blue confetti blasted from the tube, revealing they were having a boy.  She quickly cracked hers open and watched the confetti fly into the air. 

"Why did you go?" Emma quizzed Mitchell, clearly upset that he jumped the gun. She then tossed the confetti popper at his arm before walking away.

Mitchell was left standing motionless, trying to process what had just happened. 

“When your husband doesn’t do the gender reveal right, and your pregnancy hormones start to rage in front of everyone,” her caption read.

“Poor hubby, he was just so excited!”

The video has racked up over five million views since being shared, and plenty were less than impressed.

“Run for your life,” said a shocked person. “Good luck, guy,” another added. 

Others argued that hormones weren’t to blame. “Hormones isn’t an excuse to be hateful,” read a comment.

“Poor hubby! He was just so excited,” someone wrote. 

“The way you yelled was a little bratty,” someone wrote. “But to be honest, I would have been mad too!” 

“I totally knew I was a brat,” Emma conceded. “I felt bad and cried the next 24 hours … I couldn’t control myself.” 

But others were more sympathetic to the mum-to-be. “I think every pregnant woman can relate,” a woman commented. 

“Listen, if I’d never been pregnant, I’d watch this and have thought, ‘Yikes’, but I’ve been pregnant, so I understand,” a mum wrote. “Pregnancy hormones are so real,” another chimed in. 

“Sometimes the hormones take over you,” said another. “I’m pretty sure he didn’t take it to heart!”

“This is a reason why I wanted to find out the gender with my husband in private,” someone laughed. 

“Yeah, I’m never finding out the gender in front of people ever again,” Emma laughed in return.
