'I used to judge mums who did this to their kids, now I'm one of them'

"Anything to keep them safe," the mum-of-two wrote.

'I used to judge mums for this.'

A mother-of-two has shared a candid TikTok video, opening up about a major change in her perspective after becoming a mum

In the video, Chloe, a.k.a 'The Simple Mum', confessed that before becoming a parent, she was quick to judge others who used child safety reins.

Her gut reaction used to be, "They're humans, not dogs!"

Yet when she became a parent herself, her views changed, and she now uses them with her kids.

"Anything to keep them safe"

"Did I used to judge parents that would put their kids in reins?" Chloe wrote in the clip that's been viewed nearly 30k times.

"Hell yeah," she said.

She then explains that her change of heart came from realising the dangers that the world can pose to little ones.

"I didn't realise how scary the world was before I was a mum," she revealed.

This led her to prioritise her children's safety over any concerns about optics or people's judgements.

"Now I don't care how ridiculous it may look, I'll do anything to keep them safe," she said.

"Kids get snatched in seconds!"

Child safety reins are quite controversial among parents, but Chloe's video clearly landed on the feeds of non-judgmental mums.

"If my mum hadn't put me on reins I'd straight up be dead, I was a first-class runner with no sense of danger," one user replied.

"I’ve always said my little girl will have reins when she can walk, especially in busy places," someone else chimed in. "Kids get snatched in seconds!"

"There’s literally nothing wrong with it!" a third assured.

"I guess the moral of the story is to not judge people for stuff we have no experience in," a fellow TikToker commented.

"I had my son in reins and the looks I got!" another viewer admitted. "Like, I trust no one around my son, I’d rather get the looks and have him home safe every night."

"Yes to this!" one woman praised.

"I always said I’d never use them but now I’m a toddler mum, I 100% understand them!" someone in the same boat as Chloe wrote.

"Do not worry about the judgmental clueless morons," another insisted.

And this person concluded: "Children get snatched, they wriggle and run and god forbid they run in the road."

It's refreshing to see such a positive comment section every now and then. You do you and keep your kids safe in whatever way works for you.
