Gender reveal parties are usually filled with happiness and joy.
Finding out the sex of your child is a precious moment, typically shared with your closest friends and family.
That’s what one Chicago woman was expecting when her close friend invited her to their event.
But then the mum-to-be found out the sex of her child, and she was furious.

Mum-to-be throws a hissy fit over baby’s sex
A TikTok video, which has garnered over one million views, shows an outdoor gender reveal party in absolute shambles.
The mother-to-be, wearing a white T-shirt and clearly upset, can be seen pulling apart the decorations and knocking down tables as onlookers watch in astonishment
“Y’all, I’m still in shock,” the caption of the video read.
Some were clearly confused at the abrupt and destructive response. One woman tried to calm the upset mum down but was pushed away.
“It’s okay!” voices in the background shout to the woman, who angrily stormed off.
According to the woman who filmed and uploaded the video, the mum “knocked over the food first”, so guests couldn’t continue enjoying the party.

“This is pathetic. Grow the f**k up!”
According to the clip, the angry mum-to-be was mad because she “didn’t want another girl”.
Watching as the expecting mother walked away from the celebrations, others were in shock. “I didn’t think she was for real!” the woman behind the camera stated.
Online, the responses were equally as startled by her behaviour. “This is so embarrassing,” said one person.
“That is pathetic behaviour,” another said. “Grow the f**k up!”
“I’ve got four girls and I wouldn’t change it for nothing in this world!” a woman commented.
“That’s gonna make the little girl feel so loved and wanted,” one person sarcastically wrote. “How she will relate and bond with that baby,” a concerned parent added.
Those with fertility issues also shared their concerns. “I’ve had six miscarriages, still don’t have children of my own,” one woman wrote. “She should be happy with any kind of gender.”

“I sobbed when I found out I was having a boy!”
But some felt empathetic to the mum, who believe she is experiencing ‘gender disappointment’.
Some understood that the reaction was over-the-top but asserted that “gender disappointment is a very real thing.”
“I sobbed when I found out my second was a boy,” said a mum before expressing that she “didn’t like how she handled” the situation.
“I feel that pain!” said another. “I had six girls, never got a boy.”
Others argued that her hormones may have influenced the reaction.
“It’s the pregnancy hormones,” a person suggested. “I’m sure she will love her when she is born.”
