My fiance nearly ruined our gender reveal party… our neighbours knew before us!

Gender reveal parties have become quite complex in the modern age. 

The desire to outdo someone else’s, or make it as grand and dramatic as possible, can drive people to think of innovative concepts. 

So when Indya began prepping for her own party, she wanted to make it special.

Gender reveal ball “exploded when it hit the floor”

In a TikTok video, the British mum-to-be stood next to her fiance, who was holding a ball - his job was to kick the ball, which had the pink or blue powder inside. 

Her partner gave the ball a forceful boot, but it ended up going sideways, high in the air and landing in their neighbour’s backyard. 

The couple was shocked as the party-goers laughed in the background. “Oh my god,” they chuckled. “Oh no!” 

Even their dog seemed surprised as they watched the ball fly away. 

Sadly, they were unable to retrieve the ball from next door because “it exploded when it hit the floor”.

“I’m glad we had a backup plan”

They later found out that he had kicked the ball incorrectly. After filling the ball with the coloured powder, the person is supposed to kick it directly in the centre. 

“The ball is meant to explode instantly when you kick it,” she explained. However, she said he “didn't kick it in the right position, so it didn't crack”. 

Despite being “annoyed” at her partner, the pair luckily had a back-up plan. 

She confessed that she was glad she had a “plan B” otherwise she “would have cried” and “hated [her] fiance forever”. 

They later popped a black balloon, and revealed they were having a girl.

“He’s never kicked a ball in his life, has he?”

The video, which has amassed more than 700,000 views, was flooded with people laughing at the fail. 

“I’ve watched it about 60 times and it gets funnier every time,” said one fan. “He had one job!” another exclaimed. 

Some made fun of his (lack of) football skills. “He’s never kicked a ball in his life, has he,” joked an amused person.

 “[He] definitely told her he could have gone pro if it wasn’t for an ankle injury and she believed him,” laughed another. “I’m guessing his football career didn’t take off then…”
