Brisbane’s Nova 106.9 has once again dominated the radio ratings, claiming a fourth consecutive win, but Triple M has surged in the ratings taking out first place in a key timeslot.

The seventh radio survey of 2023, announced on Thursday, was dominated by Nova, which led the overall audience share, breakfast, drive and weekend, boasting a cumulative of 702,000 listeners.

The station’s evening show has also delivered a 3.2 point increase.

“Nova 106.9 is coming home strong for 2023 with a number one result for the breakfast show and the station overall and I couldn’t be happier for this great team,” Nova Networks group program director Brendan Taylor said.

“Ash, Luttsy and Susie O’Neill are well known for their genuine friendship and fierce competitiveness, so it’s great to see them continue to connect with listeners across South East Queensland.

“I’d also like to make mention of the team behind the scenes with Chris Bezzina, Alicia Foster and Lachlan Sands helping the Nova Brisbane team create great radio.”

Snapping at Nova’s heels was Triple M, which came in second for the first time in years.

Not only did the station boast the second highest cumulative audience, it also took at first place across the workday (Monday to Friday 9am to 12pm).

“Triple M, Brisbane’s first FM station, is back at the top of the pile, and is the number one station in Brisbane Monday to Friday,” Triple M content director Jamie Angel said.

“Triple M has deep-seated connection with Brisbane and continues to dominate and grow its ratings for its much-loved core audience.”

ABC’s Triple J continues to struggle in the overall radio ratings, dropping 0.4 per cent (the largest decrease in the survey) compared to last months results.

The biggest increase in overall audience came from 4BC 882, with a 0.9 per cent swing largely coming from the stations evening show.
