The mystery behind the sudden closure of one of Brisbane city’s most famous fast-food restaurants has been solved.
Hungry Jacks in Queen Street Mall will be closed for the next 10 days to undergo major internal renovations.
The closure caused panic on social media, with many concerned the famous venue was closing permanently.
“Surely it’s a Reno. Otherwise I will fall to my knees at the loss of this cultural landmark,” one person wrote on Reddit thread.
“If it does close down should we lay wreaths at the steps?” another commented.
From a cheeky bathroom pit stop on a night out to a quick meal, the notorious Hungry Jacks is always packed on Friday and Saturday nights.
“That pace at 3am was a bloody zoo,” one Redditor wrote.
The Courier-Mail understands it will take at least 10 days for the renovations to be completed.
The restaurant’s Google page states the closure in temporary.
