Andrew McKinney Welch
A fifth generation jeweller, Andrew McKinney Welch leads the Queensland-born prestigious jewellery brand, ‘McKinney’s’, with his aunt Margot McKinney.
After leaving school, Andrew, the son of Peter Welch and Jane McKinney Welch, began working for the family brand whose history dates back to 1884 when it began producing high-quality luxury jewellery in Toowoomba.
Andrew earned himself a Gemology degree at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 2021 and became one of the few GIA Gemologists in the country before launching his own contemporary unisex line of jewellery, aptly named ‘McKinney Welch’.
Andrew travels the world to sell the line of contemporary luxury products, working with affluent figures including singer Kid Laroi and Denver Broncos American footballer Randy Gregory, creating customised watches and jewellery.
He also raises money for worthy causes, most recently launching a ‘Dining for Dementia’ raising more than $500k alongside realtor Pat Goldsworthy for dementia research at the Queensland Brain Institute.
Andrew is the eldest of three boys who all attended St Joseph’s College in Gregory Terrace.
Evie Parkinson
Daughter of Australian surfing legend Joel Parkinson, 19-year-old Evie Parkinson is the eldest child of her Gold Coast-based family, followed by younger sister Macy and brother Mahli.
Graduating from Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School in 2022, Evie posts about her luxurious lifestyle on Instagram, sharing photos swimming in crystal clear water in the Maldives, eating fresh pasta in Italy and exploring the Arabian Desert.
When she’s not travelling Europe, Evie posts photos from the beach, attending music festivals and drinking cocktails with friends, often while wearing Prada sunglasses.
Throughout his career Joel Parkinson won 12 Championship Tours before retiring in 2018 with reported career earnings of more than $2 million.
Joel Parkinson, originally from Nambour, was also formerly a part owner of Balter Beer with fellow surfer Mick Fanning before selling the beer brand to Carlton & United Breweries in 2019 for an undisclosed amount.
Slattery siblings
Holly, Alara and Mitch Slattery are the three offspring of Queensland rich-lister Bevan Slattery, known for founding several IT and tech companies including NEXTDC and Superloop, reportedly making him worth more than $500 million.
The eldest, 21-year-old Holly Slattery graduated as Valedictorian at Bond University after gaining a Master of Communication and currently works as a marketing co-ordinator for her father’s company Soda.
Following her sister’s footsteps, 20-year-old Alara Slattery also attends Bond University where she studies law and is president of the student association, organising university events, parties and balls, in addition to working as a paralegal at Capital[b], a subsidiary of her father’s company, Soda.
The youngest of the Slattery children, Mitchell Slattery is 18-years-old and recently began studying a Bachelor of Property at Bond University after graduating from Brisbane Boys College in 2022.
Their father, Bevan Slattery, originally from Rockhampton, was ranked #69 on The Courier Mail‘s list of Queensland’s most powerful people in 2022 and owns submarine cable operator SubPartners, data centre Cloudscene and fibre optic network building HyperOne.
He was also on The Courier Mail’s list of first class high flyers, having owned a $13 million private jet.
Clark Kirby
The son of Village Roadshows executive chairman Robert Kirby, Clark is following in his father’s footsteps, joining the Village Roadshows Limited in 2009 before being appointed CEO of the company in 2020.
Before working in various positions at the illustrious entertainment group, Clark studied a Bachelor of Information Technology at Bond University and furthered his studies with a Master of Applied Finance and Investment at Sydney’s Macquarie University in 2005.
Clark and his wife Sara own various properties around Queensland and Victoria, including a beachfront mansion on the Gold Coast’s ‘Millionaire’s Row’ and a $4.4m acreage property in the Hinterland.
In 2019, Kirby sold a converted bakery Armadale mansion in Victoria for more than $17m, one of the biggest sales in the state that year.
Clark’s grandfather, Roc Kirby, founded Village Roadshow Limited in Victoria in 1954, operating a number of drive-in theatres and cinemas.
Clark also has three young daughters, Estelle, Eloise and Nina.
Annie Goninan
Annie Goninan, 25, is the daughter of Philippa Goninan whose parents Neil and Anne Statham founded the Statham beef and cotton empire Sundown Pastoral Company in 1964, reportedly worth millions.
Annie recently bought her first property with her partner on Broadbeach Waters and was on the Deans List for Academic Excellence when she graduated from Bond University.
On her Instagram, Annie posts pictures travelling around the world, relaxing in the Italian sun, as well as wearing Chanel glasses, Prada and Goyard bags, Cartier watches and other luxurious fashion items.
In 2013, the Sundown Pastoral Company was reportedly worth $336 million, with the company’s property portfolio currently covering more than 70,000 hectares of Queensland and northern NSW cotton and cropping land.
Annie is the youngest of three siblings, with an older brother Mitch and an older sister Charlotte who recently got married.
Her aunt and uncle, David and Danielle Statham, are the current principals and managing directors of the family business.
An Annie Goninan is listed on the board of directors for the Goninan Foundation, the family’s Gold Coast-based charity that helps grow local charitable organisations which her mother Phillipa is also a director of.
Juniper brothers
Sunshine Coast property developers Shaun and Scott Juniper are the sons of developer Graeme Juniper, founder of The Juniper Development Group, a company with a portfolio of more than $1 billion.
Shaun Juniper who on his website describes himself as ‘founder of The Juniper Group, oversees the privately owned business’s $2b in complete projects, including the $1.5b Soul Surfers Paradise residential tower on the Gold Coast.
Shaun and his wife Samantha also announced in December 2022 that they were buying Lindeman Island with plans to redevelop the derelict island in addition to selling their 8.13ha Sunshine Coast property, however both sales were scrapped in February 2023.
Shaun was also previously a driver for the Juniper racing team, driving a Porsche 911 in competitions internationally.
Scott Juniper is also following in his father’s footsteps as the director of Cube Developments alongside his partner Kirsten Juniper, establishing the company in 2015 and working on projects on the Sunshine Coast including the $30m Lumeah housing estate in Peregian Springs and the Oasis development in Bokarina.
In 2007, the Juniper family was the second richest in Queensland, worth $444m.
Graeme Juniper and his sons are behind Mooloolaba developments including Oceans, Dockside, Harbour Views, Nautilus, Malibu and more.
Beynon siblings
The children of the Gold Coast’s ‘Hugh Hefner’, Lucciana and Valentino Beynon are the first two children of tobacco king Travers ‘Candyman’ Beynon, the managing director of Australia’s leading retail tobacconist franchise, Freechoice Australia.
Lucciana Beynon, 22, lives in Miami where she works as a model, most recently strutting the catwalk at Miami Swim Week.
When she’s not modelling, she enjoys playing with rifles at shooting ranges, travelling the world and visiting her dad’s Candy Shop Mansion on the Gold Coast.
Generally staying out of the public eye, Valentino Beynon, 25, studied a Diploma of Business at Griffith University and now works as the Queensland Corporate and Franchise Regional Manager at Freechoice Australia, with his father.
They are both children of Ninibeth Leal, a Venezuelan model and former Miss World who works as a realtor at Coronis Realty in Brisbane.
Their father, Travers Beynon, the owner of the Candy Shop Mansion and managing director of Freechoice Australia, is reportedly worth $200m.
Travers is known for hosting wild parties at his Helensvale mansion which houses a 21-car garage, a 250,000-litre infinity pool and a 27-tonne statue.
Liam Talbot
A professional race-car driver and the 2017 winner of the Bathurst 12 hour, Liam Talbot is the son of late mining entrepreneur Ken Talbot who passed away in 2010, leaving millions behind for his four children and 30 per cent of his fortune to various charities.
Travelling around the world and country to compete in prestigious racing competitions, Liam Talbot is also married to former Hi-5 cast member and Getaway presenter, Charli Robinson.
The pair have two children, Kensington and Theadora and bought a $5.1m home in Chandler in southeast Brisbane in 2021.
Liam’s father, Ken Talbot died in a plane crash in the republic of Congo in 2010, leaving behind an estate with his company Macarthur Coal, worth $3.1 billion at the time of his death.
Jack Hutchinson Jnr
The son of Scott and Mary-Jeanne Hutchinson, Jack Hutchinson Jnr is a director at one of Australia’s largest private construction companies, his family’s business, Hutchinson Builders.
While studying at Bond University in 2010, Jack joined the construction company doing casual work experience, before officially joining the company in 2012 as a cadet cost planner and working his way up to Associate Director before becoming a Director in 2022.
The Brisbane Boys College graduate also holds an MBA from London Business School, has worked in various financial and property roles in Australia and the UK and tied the knot last year with his wife, Fatya, recently welcoming his first child.
A fifth generation family member to be apart of the company, Jack’s father Scott Hutchinson is still the chairman of the company, working alongside his son.
In 2023, Hutchinson’s Builders reported a revenue of $3.1 billion.
Jack has three siblings, Kenneth, Mary and Terrence, who is a director at Allvey Property Group.
Stockwell siblings
Annie, Emily, Hollie and twins Maddy and Will are the children of Mark and Tracy Stockwell, former medal-winning swimmers who met at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and run the Stockwell property firm.
Youngest of the siblings, 20-year-old Annie Stockwell is a former All Hallows’ School girl and is currently travelling the world performing with Royal Caribbean cruises after securing a contract to perform as a dancer.
Also a former All Hallows’ student, 24-year-old Emily Stockwell currently lives in New York City and describes herself as an ‘artist and healer’, performing as a burlesque dancer at various New York venues.
She previously worked at Stockwell, with a highlight on her Instagram page entitled ‘I once 9-5’d’ showing videos of her time working an office job at the family business.
Hollie Leydon, 25, (nee Stockwell) works at Stockwell as a marketing executive while she finishes a Bachelor of Business at Queensland University of Technology.
The eldest of the siblings, twins Will and Maddy have both worked with their father, Will in leasing and accounts positions while he competed in Australia swimming National Championships and Maddy as the head of sales, a position she still has today.
The siblings are all close with swimming legend David McKeon, with Will being a groomsman at his wedding.
A multimillion-dollar property, investment and management firm, Mark Stockwell became managing director of Stockwell in 1994 and has recently overseen various developments including the $60m Hof Noosaville apartment complex and recent new Agnes Water Central shopping centre and retirement village.
