Get paid $250/hr to taste beer

A Queensland brewery is offering one lucky beer lover the chance to be their official “Chief tasting officer” and get paid for the privilege.

Imagine getting paid to taste beer. Well that is the dream position being offered up to one lucky Queenslander.

Sunshine Coast brewery Heads of Noosa is looking to employ a “Chief beer tasting officer” to taste test their limited release brews for next year.

Craig and Lance Masterton from Heads of Noosa Brewery are looking for a “Chief beer tasting officer” to join their team.

The role only requires four hours per year over four days, with key responsibilities including analysing the aroma, flavour and overall quality of the beer, and making critical decisions about whether the beers are up to scratch.

The winning candidate must have a passion for beer, a refined palate, and “An uncanny ability to tell the difference between good beer and ‘Holy s#!&, this is what dreams are made of!’ beer.”

“We’re not just looking for any beer lover,” said Heads of Noosa co-owner Lance Masterton.

“We want someone who can tell a lager from an ale blind folded, and turn beer tasting into an art form.”

The right applicant will also be paid a whopping $250 an hour, plus receive lunch on their work days, as well as two cartons of every 2024 Heads of Noosa limited release.
