Push your fear of heights to the side because Brisbane is set to welcome a trio of sky-high hospitality venues sitting an impressive 100m above the ground.

The three dining and drinking destinations will be part of The Star Brisbane’s highly anticipated new Sky Deck precinct at Queens Wharf – a 250m-long, world-class observation deck on the 23rd floor open to the public year-round.

The first venture will be warm and homely, all-day eatery Babblers, which will occupy the eastern side of the deck and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It will sit alongside dramatic open-air bar Cicada Blu, which will specialise in tropical-inspired cocktails for pre- and post-dinner drinks. Meanwhile, the signature restaurant will be Aloria, which is set to serve up some of the best steak and seafood in the state, alongside an impressive wine list and martini menu.

“[The Sky Deck] is the sort of place where you can go for intimate dinners, celebrations, relaxed lunches, breezy brunches – I guess it’s like a lot of different opportunities for a lot of different people – so there’s something for everybody,” The Star Brisbane food and beverage general manager Dustin Osuch said.

With the Sky Deck one of the most talked about features of the $3.6b Queens Wharf development, Mr Osuch said he and his team spent about 12 months deciding on the perfect venues for the space.

He believed they had found the right fit with Babblers, Cicada Blu and Aloria as they catered to different price points and demographics, and would fit in with Brisbane’s emerging culinary scene.

“The purpose of The Star Brisbane is to bring a brand new perspective to Queensland and to Brisbane,” he said.

“The whole city is rapidly transforming into the next foodie capital and we just want to be part of this development and we hope to transform the city of Brisbane and start to put it on the world stage and this is a key part of that, but it is just one part of the whole puzzle.”

The eateries are due to open in April next year as part of the first stage of the Queens Wharf launch.
