Afte a four-year hiatus, Taste Port Douglas food festival is set to return to North Queensland, bringing with it a fleet of the country’s best chefs.
The spectacular event, presented by Sheraton, will be held from October 7-10, and will feature a long lunch by the ocean, collaborations with local restaurants and top Queensland chefs including Peter Kuruvita and Dominique Rizzo, an all-day beach bar and a street food party.
“Taste Port Douglas is the good news story that this industry needs in 2021,” said event organiser and owner of Sheraton Port Douglas restaurant Harrisons, Spencer Patrick.
Joining the line-up will be Brisbane’s Ben Williamson from fire-fuelled Agnes in Fortitude Valley.
“Personally, it’s been such a long cold winter and the thought of a bit of sunshine, Aperol spritzes on the beach and some tropical fruit sounds like a dream to me,” Mr Williamson said.
Coveted chef Alanna Sapwell from Esmay Pop-up will also be taking part.
“I’ve never been to Port Douglas but it looks like the holiday we are all craving and I can’t wait to showcase the abundance of stunning seafood,” Ms Sapwell said.
