Sunshine Coast’s Curated Plate food festival dates announced for 2025

A Queensland food festival set in some of the state’s most picturesque locations is coming back for another year, with a celebrity chef on-board as the event’s first ever culinary director.

A Queensland food festival set in some of the state’s most picturesque locations is coming back for another year, with a celebrity chef on-board as the event’s first ever culinary director.

The Curated Plate will return to the Sunshine Coast between July 25 and August 3 with internationally acclaimed chef, author and TV presenter Peter Kuruvita at the helm.

The festival aims to celebrate the diverse and abundant local producers, with almost 30 events expected from the lush hinterland to the seaside and everywhere in between.

Kuruvita was the festival’s 2024 ambassador and in his new role will work with local producers, chefs, restaurants and businesses to curate an exceptional program, which will offer events for all tastes and types.

Event organisers have promised the event this year will feature options for the home chef, the serial diner, busy families, couples and vegans/vegetarians, just to name a few.

Previously, The Curated Plate has included a two-day Asian food event at Spicers Tamarind in Maleny, an ‘in conversation’ event with Maggie Beer and a ‘Land to Sea’ Saltwater Eco cruise focused on First Nations perspectives and foods.

The festival, presented by the Sunshine Coast Council in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland, Visit Sunshine Coast and the Food and Agribusiness Network, is accepting expressions of interest before finalising the event program in April.

Applications close on February 3.
