Stranger Things ice cream in team-up between Netflix and Baskin-Robbins

It’s the “sweetest thing” in interactive television: A new promotion by Netflix lets you binge on Stranger Things in more ways than one.

Trailer: Stranger Things Season 3

When fans of the hit ’80s-themed Netflix drama Stranger Things binge-watch the latest season from Thursday, they’ll also be able to binge on some sweeter things.

Netflix has teamed up with Baskin-Robbins to create the actual flavours of ice cream sold at the Scoops Ahoy parlour, which as Steve’s (Joe Keery) place of employment is a major setting in season three.

Yes, it gives “Netflix and chill” a whole new meaning.

Bringing the concept into the digital age, Scoops Ahoy will have a pop-up store on Uber Eats and a bespoke Snapchat filter so fans can put themselves in the action.

But for those non-geeks who actually like to leave the house, the Stranger Things products will also be available in bricks-and-mortar Baskin-Robbins outlets.

They include Eleven’s Waffle Sandwich, the Shadow Cone, the Mind Flayer Macaron and the Demogorgon Sundae

As a special introductory offer, the first 1985 customers (the year in which season three is set) to order from Scoops Ahoy on Uber Eats after 5pm on Thursday (when the season drops) will get a free waffle sandwich.

A delivery fee of $3.95 to $5 will still be payable.
