Queensland’s best wine bars revealed

Five Brisbane venues have been named among the Top 50 best wine bars in Australia in the annual Wineslinger Awards. SEE THE LIST

Five Brisbane venues have been named among the Top 50 best wine bars in Australia in the annual Wineslinger Awards.

Cru Bar + Cellar, Fortitude Valley, La Lune Wine Co, South Brisbane, La Lupa, West End, Maeve Wine Bar, South Brisbane and Snack Man, Fortitude Valley all made the honour roll, chosen by more than 100 of the country’s leading sommeliers, winemakers, hospitality tastemakers and journalists.

The gongs are designed to help punters find top-notch venues for a tipple, while encouraging creativity and excellence in the industry.

Getting a special mention was Snack Man, described as “a Brisbane favourite that pairs Chinese regional snacks with unicorn bottles”.

The Top 50, which also includes big name interstate players such as 10 William Street, Bentley and Poly in Sydney, and Melbourne’s Carlton Wine Room and Embla, will then compete for a slew of major trophies, such as ‘Wineslinger’, ‘Best New Haunt’, the ‘Maverick’ and the publicly voted ‘People’s Choice’.

Voting for the People’s Choice is open until noon on October 19, with all the top winners revealed that night.
