The Melbourne kitchen king, behind venues such as Maha and Middle Ground, launched his unique delivery service during the pandemic in 2020 as a way to help struggling hospitality businesses survive lockdowns.
The clever spin on takeaway has some of the country’s top eateries providing restaurant-quality meals that arrive to customers cold-packed, ready for them to simply finish at home. That may mean warming up some protein in the oven or sauce in a pan.
The concept exposes diners to new restaurants, as well as allows people who may not be able to eat at their favourite venue often because of geographical reasons the opportunity to dine with them more frequently.
Brisbane restaurants Siffredi’s, Evita, La Costa, Nota, La Valle, Naim, Southside, Brisbane Phoenix, City Winery, Bianca, Same Same, Stanley and Felons Brewing are all on-board, with customers from the Sunshine Coast to Tweed Heads and out to Toowoomba all able to order the food and have it delivered to their door.
Hungry hordes can begin ordering from this Thursday for the first delivery to go out on February 24, with next-day delivery to commence after that.
Delia (inset) said the plan was to start small and continue to bring on big-name restaurants from Brisbane and along the coasts, before expanding into North Queensland.
Customers will pay a flat $16.50 delivery fee no matter where they are based, while restaurants pay 15 per cent of each order price to be on the platform, giving them an extra revenue stream.
