One of Brisbane’s oldest pubs has been given a mammoth $3 million makeover, with the iconic Pinkenba Hotel – The Pink – transformed into the new Trade Coast Hotel.

Reopening on Wednesday, the 110-year-old site boasts a new bar, bistro, gaming and TAB facilities, three-star accommodation and Liquor Legends bottle shop.

The fresh look is a glamorous colonial-meets-coastal vibe, with wainscoting on teal walls, historic photos and clippings as wallpaper, rattan pendants and a relaxed, tree-covered beer garden.

The new Myrtle’s Bistro will feature a huge pizza oven producing traditional and Aussie-style bases in flavours such as meatlovers and mozzarella, alongside classic pub faves like parmies, burgers, steaks and fish and chips.

But the multimillion-dollar makeover is not yet complete, with a second stage to include a function centre, microbrewery and four-star accommodation, due to open mid next year.
