AS THE Australian restaurant industry faces annihilation after a nationwide shutdown, here are some southeast Queensland estalishments who are forging ahead with takeaway and delivery options.

THE WOLFE

Acclaimed chef/owner Josh Lopez has launched a takeaway taco concept called Veracruz, which will be served from the kitchen at The Wolfe. It will offer traditional items that aren’t available elsewhere in Brisbane including chicharron and chicken mole and gluten-free tacos.

Meanwhile, The Wolfe will also offer takeaway, including a new signature lobster roll.

While you may no longer be able to enjoy river views with your meal, this contemporary Cantonese restaurant is serving up their favourites through a new online ordering service, like special fried rice ($14), stir-fried duck noodles ($24) and honey glazed barbecue pork ($19). Wine and non-alcoholic drinks can also be purchased.

The award-winning French restaurant is offering fine dining in your lounge room with a classic takeaway offering including everything from duck and cognac parfait with brioche ($15) to French onion soup ($12) and duck a l’orange ($30). Just make sure to order online by 7pm the day before for pick-up.

Acclaimed chef Philip Johnson will be offering his coveted food now on Deliveroo and through a “drive-through” service at the restaurant, with favourites like parmesan and fior di latte arancini ($10/4 pieces) and gorgonzola potato gnocchi ($25) and a family meal of slow cooked lamb shoulder with mint, crushed peas, broccolini and salsa verde ($65).

The beloved restaurant is offering their breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert menus all takeaway. Think everything from roasted cauliflower salad ($23) to steamed mussels with chilli jam ($32), even coconut custard with raspberry and toffee sesame ($16). A kids’ menu is also available.

The hugely popular Thai-inspired eatery has created a contact-free takeaway service, with pick-up from the front of the Fortitude Valley restaurant. Items available include the Longtime chicken burger ($5.50), banana flower salad ($23) and their famous red curry of beef cheeks ($30) among others.

This French-inspired eatery is now offering takeaway meals such as beef lasagne, Thai red chicken curry, cream of pumpkin soup, beef cheek ragu and Moroccan lamb tagine as well as coffee, birthday cakes, tarts and other patisserie items daily. Customers need only pull into the hotel driveway, where the concierge will handover takeaway orders or they can pick-up in person.

RESTAURANT LABART

The critically acclaimed Gold Coast restaurant was the first to enter the brave new world of takeaway and it’s proven a hit, dedicating each night to a different theme of dinner. Wednesday is vegetable minestrone, Thursday is chicken soup, Friday is seafood curry, Saturday is beef lasagne and Sunday is peri peri quail, with prices ranging from $20-$25 and menus changing frequently. The cut-off time for orders is 5pm the day prior, with pick up from the restaurant and delivery coming soon.
