Forget canned or dried food for your pooch, doggie dining has just gone up a notch, with one Brisbane eatery offering a full chef-created menu.
Jazz bar and cafe The Charles’ at The Westin Brisbane in the CBD will this week introduce a new line-up of breakfast and lunch dishes specifically for dogs, responding to the growing number of people bringing their pups into work after Covid lockdowns.
“Dog owners love to take their pets out with them as they dine, but finding an appropriate spot to take your fur-baby can be challenging,” said Brad Mercer from The Westin Brisbane. “This menu is set to make all the difference in providing the ultimate space for those important brunch meetings.”
The canine culinary offering has been designed by the hotel’s executive chef Cobus Klopper and sous chef Jamie Kim and will include everything from an assiette bowl with a mix of bone-shaped biscuits, gelatine beef stock cubes and meatballs, as well as a riff on the popular Korean rice dish bibimbap, featuring braised barramundi, carrots, peas, pumpkin, spinach, sesame and corn.
“We want our customers to feel assured in the fact that their furry friends are being catered to, making each meal in-house daily with only the most premium ingredients, care and attention we would give every other meal,” Mercer said.
“This menu is hearty, it’s nutritious and it is everything your dog deserves and more.”
Pups can also get stuck into the likes of a “Woofacino” with beef broth topped with a dog-friendly milk foam and “Vin De Woof” featuring beef broth, carrots, beetroot and celery, with dishes starting from $6.
Though pets will not be able to sit on the furniture at the cafe, they can perch on the ledges around the eatery while also sipping filtered water.
The doggie dining will be available from 7am-1pm daily at The Charles’.
