A Brisbane baker has become an overnight bestseller, with her debut cookbook reaching No. 1 on Amazon Australia.

Brooke Bellamy, the owner of Brisbane’s insanely popular cookie shop Brooki Bakehouse in Fortitude Valley, released her first cookbook Bake With Brooki for pre-order yesterday and within 24 hours it had already taken out top spot on the bestseller list.

“It was a very surreal moment,” she said.

“It is such a testament to how supportive the Brooki community is, who are the real reason for the ongoing success of the business and brand.”

The dessert shop, which started in May 2022 has become an international social media sensation, gaining 1.9m followers on TikTok, 900,000 on Instagram and 520,000 on YouTube thanks to the entrepreneur’s engaging videos showing her daily life in the bakery.

Customers come from across the world to try her beloved cookies and other sweet treats, with the store attracting lines down the street daily.

The cookbook promises over 100 recipes of her famous cookies, cakes, blondies and more, with Ms Bellamy determined to share her products with the world.

While pre-orders have been outstanding, the book won’t be hit shelves until October, just after the 32-year-old has her first child.

“The baby is due in September and my cookbook launches October 29,” she said.

“The timing feels serendipitous to be celebrating two huge life milestones one month after the other. My wedding will follow in December, rounding out one of the most fast-paced but truly best years of my life.”

She said she would take a short maternity leave from the business whe baby is due, but was excited to see where she and her team could take the brand with huge plans for future growth.

“I’m looking forward to the next chapter with open arms. I’m sure it will be an adjustment, but life is nothing without change and challenges,” she said.
