Administrators of popular fine diner Montrachet have been inundated with interest from buyers wanting to make the embattled restaurant their own.

Mark Holland of McGrathNicol said he had received multiple inquiries from those in the hospitality industry both locally and interstate keen to purchase the French favourite after it was announced last week it had entered voluntary administration.

“We’ve received inquiries from a range of parties and intend to assist them to undertake due diligence and submit to us expressions of interest or offers over the course of this week,” he said.

Those still interested in purchasing the Bowen Hills institution, which just celebrated 20 years in business, have until 4pm, July 10 to contact McGrathNicol.

Mr Holland said he was hopeful of finding a suitable buyer for the former Queensland Restaurant of the Year, with Brisbane diners booking in droves to support the venue, which continues to remain open for trade while administrators undertake the sale process.

A new owner would also help save the jobs of the restaurant’s 22 staff.

Mr Holland could not reveal an estimated sale price, but said his firm would be evaluating all offers.

“The price will be what someone’s prepared to pay for it. It’ll be up to the bidders to form a view on price and put that forward to us together with their credentials for consideration.” he said.
