50 to 1: Where to find South East Qld’s best laksa restaurants
From Noosa to Surfers Paradise, we travelled across South East Queensland to find the best of the best when it comes to laksa. Here is our top 50.

With winter well and truly underway, what better way to warm up than with some of the tastiest laksa in the area?
Spicy noodles topped with chicken, prawns or fish, it’s the meal that can be altered to fit your tastebuds exactly.
From Noosa all the way to Surfers Paradise, we travelled across SEQ to find the best of the best when it comes to laksa.
Here’s our list of the top 50.
1. Malaya Corner, Sunnybank
Suitable for all occasions, Malaya Corner offers an authentic taste of Malaysian cuisine.
Affordable, tasty and fresh, not only is this restaurant easy to get to but the staff are clearly passionate about the food.
Worker Yannie Cheng said before she started working there she used to eat in the restaurant all the time.
“Our most popular thing is the laksa but more specifically the combination which includes a mix of seafood,” Ms Cheng said.
“I think what sets us apart from other places is how authentic we are.”
With countless five star ratings, it was a no-brainer to place Malaya Corner as number one on our list.
2. Laksa Hut, Indooroopilly
This store does not fall short of its name.
Laksa Hut, situated in Indooroopilly, draws customers in with its focus on the dish.
Worker Lyn Chung said they were busy everyday but mostly at night time.
“People just love all the different meat we offer,” she said.
“We have been here since about 2012 so we’ve become quite well known in the area.”
Popular for its spice, Laksa Hut also attracts with its open layout and relaxed atmosphere.
3. Little Singapore, Chermside
Little Singapore is uniquely set out in a way where customers can book a private dining table or a central one throughout the store.
One of the biggest restaurants on this list, Little Singapore is so popular that customers sat outside awaiting its opening at 11am on a Tuesday when we were there.
Employee Leo Mendoza said the store’s most popular laksa was either the combination of seafood and chicken or the roast duck laksa.
“We sell it (the laksa) under our Singapore special so people opt for quite a lot,” he said.
“Thursday to Sunday are our busiest days.”
4. Sing’s Asian Kitchen and Bar, Rosalie
Family owned for 20 years, Sing’s Asian Kitchen and Bar manager Bob Nguyen said the eatery had some regular customers who came for their laksa two to three times every week.
“This restaurant is quite popular, especially among the locals,” he said.
The laksa is served in a combination of Hokkien noodles, thin rice noodles and seasonal vegetables in a creamy coconut chilli broth.
Mr Nguyen said customers could choose between chicken, beef or king prawns.
“We want to create the best possible flavour for our customers and our regulars prove that we do,” he said.
5. Roti Place, Charlotte St Brisbane
Roti Place is conveniently located right in the heart of Brisbane, making it the perfect grab and go for a night out.
Filled to the brim as early as 11.30am on a Tuesday, the service was swift and efficient.
Whether it was a single customer after some Laksa or a big group, people said they had regularly come along to the restaurant during their work hours.
But its convenience isn’t all that's great about this gem. The Malaysian Combination Laksa includes hokkien noodle and rice vermicelli with chicken and seafood in an extra rich and creamy coconut curry soup all for the modest price of $13.
6. Quan Thanh, West End
Calling anyone who loves spice!
Quanh Thanh in West End is known for specialising in Vietnamese, Chinese and Malaysian dishes.
Serving up laksas packed with vermicelli and Hokkien noodles as well as chicken, beef, barbecue pork, vegetables, crispy skin chicken, roast duck or the signature seafood mix, customers have endless options.
The family-run restaurant also offers “extra spicy” for those with a taste for heat.
