Shoppers have declared their obsession with a new sweet treat, with one declaring “shut up and take my money”.
Cadbury release it’s Cadbury Tropical Pineapple Egg Bag as part of its Easter range. Kati Keksi, who runs a gluten free guide, shared a snap of the eggs.
“I’m quite excited by this one, I’ll definitely buy some to try,” she said.
Many social media users expressed their excitement at the item.
“OMG I loved the pineapple in the big blocks. I will be getting these for myself for Easter. So excited,” one said.
Another added: “Shut up and take my money.”
“I want the Pineapple and Strawberry filling to be put into a jar to spread on toast. Bring on the ‘Fredo Spreado’,.” one commented.
One added: “Oh dear God! I’ll eat a million of these!”
“They are so good, I was happy to see pineapple eggs,” one social media user commented.
One commented: “Oh you have to stop this, first smarties, then crunch now this deliciousness.”
A Cadbury spokesman said it came to be thanks to the popularity of the pineapple block.
“We know how much Australians love our Cadbury Tropical Pineapple Block, so we’re excited to introduce the Cadbury Tropical Pineapple Egg Bag to our Easter line-up in 2025,” a Cadbury spokesman told news.com.au.
“This delicious treat features a flowing pineapple centre wrapped in Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate.
“Whether sharing them with family and friends or enjoying a little treat for yourself, we hope Aussies have as much fun with them this Easter as we had creating them.”
The Tropical Pineapple Egg Bag retails for $6.70. It’s available at all major retailers.
Easter items have been spotted in supermarkets from Boxing Day. Ms Keksi shared a photo she was sent of Baker’s Life Gluten Free Hot Cross Buns at Aldi. The treats came in fruit and chocolate flavours.
She asked if people were “happy, ambivalent, irrationally angry or legitimately angry” over the treats being sold before the end of the year.
The post was shared on December 21. However, it’s no secret that often hot cross buns are released by supermarkets on Boxing Day.
As always, the topic of hot cross buns being sold anywhere near the festive season sparked a furious debate. Some wanted the treats all year around but others were outraged.
“Makes me so happy to see these at any time of year! We love them,” one social media user said.
Another added: “This is so wrong. Commercialism at it worst!”
“Ridiculous, at least let’s get Christmas over with first,” another social media user added.
One said: “I stopped caring. Hot cross buns no longer represent Easter so might as well sell them all year and remove them from the Easter calendar.”
An Aldi spokesman said the reason the hot cross buns were in store was because of consumer demand.
