The new year might mean plenty of new fashion looks, but there’s one trend that doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon.
The micro bikini trend is here to stay for 2020, with Australian Instagram queen Tammy Hembrow sporting a barely-there two piece in a post over the weekend.
The Gold Coast-based influencer posed poolside in a neon green bikini from online retailer Oh Polly, with the skimpy design showing off plenty of skin.
Hembrow paired the revealing bikini with a pair of tinted sunglasses, with her followers quick to praise her latest look.

“Girl you are all kind of fine,” one person wrote, while another added: “Two kids where?!?”
Hembrow was one of the first to rock a “naked” bikini, a swimwear trend that took off online because it appears as if the wearer has no clothes on.
She also admitted on her podcast Hanging With The Hembrows, which she hosts alongside sisters Emilee and Amy, that she edits her photos but doesn’t “go crazy”.
Hembrow rose to fame after documenting her post-pregnancy body transformation and sharing her HIIT workouts on Instagram.
The model now has her own exercise app, Tammy Fit, as well as clothing line Saski Collection.
She shares her two children, son Wolf, 3, and daughter Saskia, 2, with her ex-fiance Reece Hawkins, who she broke up with in June 2018.
While she’s been a successful Instagram influencer and model for years, Tammy’s star skyrocketed last year when she made an infamous exit from Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday party in Los Angeles.
Tammy was photographed being taken out of the party face down on a stretcher. She later told her fans in a YouTube video that she “pretty much collapsed”.
‘I’VE MADE SURE THAT IT COVERS THE RIGHT AREAS’
Hembrow is a big fan of the skimpy bikini and last year launched her label Saski Collection’s first bikini line, Saski Swim.
Speaking to news.com.au at the time, Hembrow said she was a fan of the revealing swimwear design and having her first swimwear line reflect her personal style was a “no-brainer”.
“To be honest, I’ve been really confident in my body the last couple of years particularly because I’ve really worked hard on it,” she said. “For the first one I really wanted to make it very me.”
But wearing the revealing styles hasn’t been without its critics, with Tammy revealing she often cops hate for her skimpy looks.

“Definitely, I think there will always be people that will make comments and say you’re a mum, you shouldn’t be wearing something like that,” she said.
“But everybody is entitled to their opinion. I’m not going to stop being me or catering to my audience of girls because of that divisive opinion.”
Tammy was also happy to answer one of the biggest questions that gets asked about skimpy bikinis – can you actually swim in them?
“You can definitely swim in it, I’ve made sure that it covers the right areas,” she said with a laugh.
“We’re looking at bringing out some more styles in the future as we expand the bikini line, but I love that look personally and they are wearable.”
