Cyclists pedal towards the fourth annual Australian Unity Tour de Brisbane

Thousands of cyclists will take to the streets on April 2 for the fourth annual Australian Unity Tour de Brisbane.

Thousands of cyclists will take to the streets on April 2 for the fourth annual Australian Unity Tour de Brisbane.

The event will aims to raise funds for support transplant research through The Common Good, run by the Prince Charles Hospital Foundation.

There are a number of different events for all levels of cyclists, including the 10km Story Bridge Ride, 50km Short Ride, 80km Medium Ride, Sprint Duathlon and 110km Gran Fondo Long Ride.

Director of Allied Health at the Prince Charles Hospital Perry Judd, 47, said as a former patient who underwent transplant surgery, he felt privileged to be a part of the event.

“For me the fact that it’s raising money for transplant research is something that’s quite close to my heart,” Mr Judd said.

The Common Good general manager Chloe Nguyen said they are hoping to raise $100,000.

“The Common Good is proud to support lifesaving research into organ transplant and other related conditions to help people live healthier for longer,” she said.
