1. OMG! Decadent Donuts, Various farmers markets
Oh em gee! Brisbane’s best doughnut goes to OMG! Decadent Donuts. What started out as a humble farmers market sold doughnut has now grown into a national doughnut brand that was created in Brisbane and still to this day is 100% locally owned and operated.
OMG! makes doughnuts that are totally inclusive so they can be enjoyed by all consumers. Not only are they vegan but are free of gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, yeast and sulfite as well as being free of artificial colours, flavours and preservatives because no one likes nasties in their sweet treats.
“With all those ‘free’s’ you would be forgiven for thinking they might be pretty tasteless, but they taste fantastic for everyone and not just those who have food allergies or preferences,” says co-director of OMG! Decadent Donuts Diane O’Reilly.
What sets them apart is that their doughnuts are dusted with a range of bespoke sugars; no icing or fillings, but fun sugar combos mixing natural sugar with dehydrated whole fruit, vegetables and spices.
If you’re in Brisbane, you can try these delicious doughnuts at a number of farmers markets including Cathedral Square, Milton and Mt Gravatt.
