We eat cake for all sorts of occasions and sometimes with no occasion at all. Brisbane has some incredible makers of cake and they’re certainly not afraid to take whisks (and risks).
Brisbane’s best celebration cake makers can now be revealed, after The Courier-Mail readers nominated and voted for their favourites.

10. Jocelyn’s Provisions, Fortitude Valley, Albion & Camp Hill
Since it was established in 1996, Jocelyn’s Provisions has gained a nationwide reputation for its pastries, provisions and of course, their fine cakes.
They offer bespoke cakes of all flavours with lashings of luscious buttercream frosting and are baked using the best ingredients and traditional recipes retaining that old world charm.
9. Cakes and Shit, Fortitude Valley & Enoggera
Cakes and Shit combines a love of baking and a dirty sense of humour to give their customers cakes they’ll never forget.
From stripper cakes to drunk Barbie cakes and everything in between #NSFW is their specialty.
You can bet nothing is too naughty to be custom shaped or spelled at this store of sweet treats where they love cake possibly more than they love swearing.

A cafe and bakery open 7 days a week, Three Girls Skipping may serve pastries and light savoury fare everyday but it’s their delicious cakes that have put them on our list as one of Brisbane’s best celebration cake providers.
You can’t go past their sponge filled with homemade strawberry jam, vanilla whipped cream and fresh strawberries or their yummy rhubarb crumble.

2. Lady Bouchon, Albion
This small batch market bakery creates beautiful simplistic creations like pistachio cake with rose cream cheese frosting or lovely lemonade and elderflower cakes with pressed flowers strives to keep supporting local and share their knowledge and passion for food with the Brisbane community.
“Lady Bouchon is a celebration of all my experiences, whether it be my apprenticeship, staging abroad at the most beautiful bakeries or my continued appreciation for design and art,” Founder and pastry chef of Lady Bouchon Catherine Marot says.
Though there’s no shop front just yet, their kitchen is based in Albion and they provide a delivery service between Brisbane & Gold Coast.
