'ALDI are you ok?': Aussies confused over bizarre foldable exercise bike ad

"This was definitely made by a Gen Z marketing team," one person wrote.

ALDI'S brand new foldable exercise bike ad confuses Aussies

A shopper has taken to TikTok to share how she was left in hysterics after stumbling across a strange ad for ALDI's foldable exercise bike.

Bec Brewin from Melbourne was keen to snag the new $169 Special Buy and went looking for the dimensions on the ALDI website.

However, what she came across was something that could best be described as a conceptual and existential short film.

The advertisement, which was set in outer space, left her scratching her head and she's since made it go viral with her hilarious reaction to it.

"Do the planets sing about the foldable exercise bike?"

Taking to her account @rebeccabrewin she began, "Has anyone actually been on the ALDI website? The reason I ask is that I was just looking up this bike. I'm interested but need to know the dimensions... and this is what I found."

She then showed part of the ad. It begins with a shot of the Milky Way galaxy before the female narrator says, "Outer space. A special place where the vacuum renders everything silent, leading us to ask: 'Does the sun roar as it burns? Do the planets sing as they spin?'

"And do they sing about... the foldable exercise bike from ALDI for only $169?"

The bike then appears on the screen floating next to the planets.

In the second part of the clip the narrator reads out some of the key features of the bike (accompanied by some creepy whispers that echo the woman's voice) before concluding, "So while we might never hear the call of the celestial orchestra, the call of the foldable exercise bike at ALDI rings loud and clear."

Bec captioned her clip: "I’ve never been more confused."

"Gen Z must be running ALDI's ad squad."

The ad also left viewers perplexed, with one person commenting on Bec's video: "ALDI, are you alright?"

Another chimed in, joking, "ALDI. It's a state of mind." A third person playfully noted, "Gen Z must be running ALDI's ad squad."

But some viewers admitted that the ad actually worked on them.

One TikToker confessed, "Honestly, I'd buy anything after seeing this."

"I suddenly have an urgent need for ALDI'S $169 foldable exercise bike," declared another viewer.

"The ALDI ads are always the best, 😂 I hope their marketing department is paid big money," concluded someone else.
