The Gympie region is deservedly known for its picturesque views, idyllic lifestyle opportunities and unique community spirit. But that same community has been forced to collectively endure some monstrous crimes throughout its rich history, often committed by some equally monstrous people.
Traffic has been delayed on the Bruce Highway south of Gympie this afternoon after a caravan flipped in a single vehicle crash at Kybong.
It’s a mighty long way from his native Colorado rockies, but chef and now business owner Aaron Sharrock has found the Gympie region to be the perfect place to launch his fledgling foodie venture – out of his own driveway.
The council’s CEO Shane Gray said this week the organisation had recently signed up to be a Small Business Friendly Council, as part of ongoing efforts to provide relief for Gympie region business owners doing it tough due to lingering effects of the pandemic.
Notices have been sent to affected residents alerting them to the blasting, which will start in mid-June to remove rock along the new highway alignment between Noosa Rd and Penny Rd at Mothar Mountain.
The Gympie Times asked readers whether they knew a top, homegrown footballing talent who deserved some public recognition, and it’s fair to say the response came with gusto.
David Boston, who was last seen in a blue 2005 Ford Falcon at Kia Ora, has been located by police.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the multi-vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway at about 11.47am Sunday morning.
