It’s been three years since she exploded onto our screens on Married At First Sight, and Cyrell Paule has returned to reality TV with a bang.
Just 12 minutes into the premiere episode of Channel 10’s new reality show The Challenge, a heated, expletive-laden argument unfolds between “Cyclone Cyrell” and fellow contestant, Love Island star Audrey Kanongora.
The debut episode sees the 22 contenders arrive at their accommodation house in Argentina, where the show was filmed earlier this year. In a desperate bid to score the best beds, the stars frantically fetch their branded The Challenge jerseys and place them on the bed they want – thus, staking their claim to said bed.
Audrey, however, didn’t get the jersey memo. She placed her high heels on the bed she wanted, which Cyrell later re-claimed by putting her jersey on the bed.
“People are trying to steal beds,” a slightly miffed Audrey said in front of Cyrell.
“You can’t just claim it with the shoes!” Cyrell immediately fired back. “The first challenge was to grab your jersey, and mark your territory. That’s what everybody else is doing.”
Audrey argued nobody told her of the loose rules, prompting Cyrell to say, “Shove the f**king bed up your ass then,” before storming out of the room.
Fellow MAFS alum Ryan Gallagher’s face during the confrontation says it all:
“There’s a reason she’s called ‘Cyclone Cyrell’. She will go nuts from somebody putting a bum on a bed,” Ryan said in a piece-to-camera.
Former Australia’s Got Talent winner and The Voice competitor Jack Vidgen added, “Cyrell kicking off this drama, I’m not too sure if it’s the smartest way to play the game.”
It appears Cyrell’s famous clashes won’t end there, with a promo that dropped last month showing her hurling out expletives with a wine in hand.
The Challenge will see contestants randomly paired up as they compete in physical contests to win challenges and eliminate their opponents, in a bid to take out the $200,000 cash prize.
Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm and Ryan won the very first challenge, and were granted the power to send teams to elimination.
Hosted by non-binary TV presenter Brihony Dawson, the new series also stars Brooke Blurton, Brittany Hockley and Ciarran Stott, to name a few.
And we can definitely expect some drama to emerge from the show. Bachelor star Megan Marx and Konrad Bien Stephens allegedly hooked up during filming, with Abbie Chatfield announcing her and Konrad’s split shortly afterwards.
The Challenge continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel 10
