Purple Wiggle’s major life announcement

Purple Wiggle star John Pearce has taken to social media to share a life-changing news with fans of the iconic group.

The Purple Wiggle has announced he’s expecting his first child.

In a touching announcement on Instagram, John Pearce and his wife Jessie, who married in 2019, revealed that their baby boy is due in December 2024.

Pearce, who captured hearts as a member of the Australian pop music sensation Justice Crew, joined The Wiggles in 2021.

In their announcement, the pair said: “It has been a long journey but our beautiful angel has finally been sent to us. We are so full of joy and can’t wait to meet you.”

Pearce’s co-star also shared their joy at another baby Wiggle being on its way, commenting: “We’re all so happy to see The Wiggles’ family expanding. John and Jessie are a wonderful couple, and we can’t wait to welcome their baby into our Wiggles world. It will be a full house by Christmas … we may need to look at getting an even bigger Red Car!”

It’s the second happy announcement from the group this year, after Red Wiggle, Caterina Mete, revealed she was several months pregnant after “a long journey” through IVF, with the help of an anonymous donor.

It comes after Pearce opened up about enjoying life on the road with the iconic Aussie group.

“If I did a ‘day in the life’ video of myself it would change the next day,” he told Yahoo.

“When I’m on the road it could be three to four Wiggle shows a day, plus a drive to the next venue. When I’m not on the road it’s usually filming or writing music or recording content for Wiggles TV at Wiggles HQ in Western Sydney. There’s something different every single day.”

However, despite enjoying his time in the group, he added that it could sometimes be “difficult” juggling his work life with his personal life; something that’s only bound to get harder with a baby on the way.

“It is difficult, especially being married and I usually enjoy my family time and my home time,” he confessed. “I just work each day as it comes and plan ahead. Every day’s different and it’s very difficult, but at the moment I’m making it work because we’re not travelling as much. It’s just maintaining communication, especially with my wife and my family, and just working together.”
