Early poster reveals Big Day Out dates including two Sydney shows

NEXT year's Big Day Out will return to having two Sydney shows, as well as a show in Auckland, and will take place in Melbourne on a Friday.

THE Big Day Out will return to being a two-day event in Sydney next year.

A premature street poster in Melbourne has revealed the dates for next year's festival.

The advertising was not due until next week.

It also confirms the event will return to Auckland and move to a Friday in Melbourne.

The Big Day Out will start in Auckland on January 17, the Gold Coast January 19, Melbourne on January 24, Sydney on January 26 and 27, Adelaide January 31 before winding up in Perth on February 2.

The poster says the event's line-up - bands and venues - will be released on July 31.

It will be the first time the Big Day Out has had two Sydney dates since 2011.

It also allows Sydney punters to choose if they want to attend on a Sunday or a Monday - the Monday being the Australia Day public holiday.

Melbourne now has the Big Day Out on a Friday - January 24.
