Kyle Sandilands calls Steve Price a ‘demented old loon’

Broadcasters Kyle Sandilands and Steve Price have once again traded barbs, as their ferocious feud continues to bubble away.

Kyle Sandilands has blasted Steve Price, calling the broadcaster a “demented old loon”.

The KIIS FM host unleashed on Price on Monday’s radio show in response to a scathing opinion piece Price penned in News Corp papers over the weekend.

In the article, Price had a crack at Kyle and Jackie over “a degrading and grubby stunt” that aired on their radio show last week.

The stunt saw five female members of The Kyle and Jackie O Show, including Jackie, record themselves urinating.

The audio was then played to the male team members on air, and they had to guess which piece of audio belonged to each of the female team members.

Price described the segment as “a disgusting, woman shaming act of depravity”, adding, “there are parts of what happened that are so descriptive and demeaning for the females that I can’t include it here”.

“(Kyle’s) feckless co-host Jackie Henderson went along with the stunt, even allowing herself to be recorded sitting on a toilet. Has she no shame?” he wrote.

The article also included a video of Price in which he referred to the stunt as “dreadful content” and said, “it’s not something that should be broadcast on free to air radio”.

Kyle and Jackie O are the number one FM breakfast show in Sydney.

Kyle fires back

Kyle addressed Price’s article in the opening break of Monday’s episode of The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“I’ve noticed one of our foes has been at it again, someone who doesn’t like the show, you might know him as Steve Price,” he said.

Kyle then spoke about the stunt in question, saying it stemmed from a similar segment a week or two earlier.

“Remember … the producing girls were discussing, ‘could you identify one of the male staff members by the sound of them weeing in the toilet?’

“So the girls came up with this idea and then the guys all recorded themselves pissing,” he explained.

“We thought it was fun, people enjoyed it, so we did it again with the girls,” Kyle said.

“It was planned by the women that run the show, not planned by me, not planned by Jackie, planned by the girls.

“But Steve Price, without any checking or without any facts, he’s gone on the rampage saying that I’m a misogynist that forces my female staff to do uncomfortable things on the radio, which is far from the truth.”

Kyle said he took particular issue with Price’s description of the stunt as “a disgusting, woman-shaming act of depravity”, a line that seemed to amuse Jackie O.

“Well we were shaming ourselves because we wanted to do it!” she said.

The segment ended with Kyle calling Price a “demented old loon” and a “mental case”.

Steve Price is NOT a fan of Kyle and Jackie O.

The latest blows in a long-running feud

Kyle and Price have been trading insults for almost 12 months now.

Their beef started when Price appeared on The Project late last year to discuss the news that The Kyle and Jackie O Show would air in Melbourne as well as Sydney in 2024.

“Kyle’s a grubby buffoon, and I don’t think grubby buffoons work in Melbourne,” he said at the time.

“I probably shouldn’t call him a grubby buffoon. He’s just a grub,” Price said.

Kyle tried to call Price live on air the next morning but had to settle for leaving him a voicemail.

“Hey you piece of sh*t, we’ve spoken before, last time you forgot that you’re not allowed to mouth off about me,” Sandilands said in the voicemail.

“It’s disappointing that as you’ve gotten older you have turned into a real piece of sh*t,” he added.

The feud flared up again in April after The Kyle and Jackie O Show debuted on Melbourne radio.

Appearing on The Project, Price described the KIIS FM radio show as “sexualised rubbish” and said that “nobody should listen to it”.

He also took a swipe at Kyle for refusing to appear on his podcast, saying, “you didn’t have the guts to sit down and do an interview with me to talk about your new radio show, perhaps because you’ve got the intellect of cumquat”.

Kyle responded on air the next morning, accusing Price of being “as fake as a $2 note” and suggesting that he was simply criticising their show to generate headlines.

“It is feigned outrage,” he said. “He’s not really outraged. He’s just doing his thing.

“I wonder if he’s just pretending to be a c**t, or if he actually is a horrible person?”
