How this lookalike fooled the media on the red carpet

EVEN though this woman really, really, looks like a certain A-lister, it isn’t — and it’s not the first time she’s fooled the media.

AS ONE of Hollywood’s most celebrated actresses, Amy Adams is no strange sight on an award show red carpet.

But audiences were forced to do a double take on Monday when relatively unknown actress Christiane Seidel arrived at the Emmys in Hollywood.

With her porcelain skin, similar facial features and red hair, Seidel was a dead ringer for Adams, who didn’t even attend this year’s ceremony.

Seidel’s similarity was so striking she even managed to fool the media, with the Associated Press initially heaping praise on Adams for the red carpet look before swiftly issuing a correction, the New York Post reported.

It’s not the first time Adams has been mistaken for another Hollywood actress, with the Sharp Objects star often confused with Australian star Isla Fisher.

Their similarity is so striking Fisher played Adams’ fictional alter-ego in 2016 film Nocturnal Animals.

Fisher even filmed a mock PSA for Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2017 and revealed how she had been mistaken for Adams at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party.

“I was there, all excited and dressed up at the bar and, you know, schmoozing with showbiz types, and the crowds parted and there was Lady Gaga,” Fisher said.

“And she’s heading right toward me and she says, ‘Thank you. Your performance in American Hustle, Amy, was’ … And I’m thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s Lady Gaga. I love her so much. I don’t want to tell her the truth.’ So I just gracefully thanked her, bowed my head.”
