Gold Coast TikTok sensation Kat Clark has revealed she and her family are packing up their lives in Australia and relocating to the United States within the next 30 days, a decision that’s left fans both supportive and stunned.
In a video shared with her 7.4 million TikTok followers on Tuesday night, the 38-year-old mum-of-two confirmed that she, her husband Jonathan, and 14-year-old daughter Deja are moving across the Pacific to chase new opportunities, leaving eldest daughter Latisha, 21, behind on the Gold Coast.
“We’re moving to America. Oh my goodness, I’m so scared about telling you,” she said, visibly emotional while applying skincare during the candid video.
“I don’t want to get to the end of my life and think, what if I did this, or what if I said yes to that? What would my life look like?”
While Clark didn’t disclose where in the United States the family is headed, she admitted “a few of you have worked it out — and you’re not happy”.
“Australia is a beautiful country. We have free healthcare, the best beaches, amazing people. And if I’m being completely honest, there’s a huge part of me that doesn’t want to go,” she said.
“But there’s also a part of me that’s feeling curious … and I don’t want to have any regrets.”
The move marks a bold new chapter for the family, who rose to social media fame through candid family content, before expanding her brand into beauty, lifestyle and business advice.
Fans have long speculated about an overseas move, especially after Clark hinted in 2024 that international relocation was on the cards — though this is the first time she’s confirmed the US as the destination.
Industry insiders say the relocation could be a strategic one, with Australia notably absent from TikTok’s lucrative Creator Rewards Program — a feature only available in countries such as the U.S., Japan, Germany, and Brazil.
With millions of followers across both her personal account and a shared channel with daughter Deja, experts say the family could significantly boost their income by basing themselves in the States.
Still, Clark was quick to reassure fans she wasn’t cutting ties with Australia altogether.
“My daughter [Latisha] is still going to be here, my businesses are still going to be here,” she said.
“I really hope you guys understand, because if I’m being honest, I need all the support I can get. This is scary.”
The unexpected move has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans expressing sadness — particularly over Clark’s decision to leave Australia for the US while others praised her courage in pursuing new dreams.
“Moving to America in this political climate is crazy,” one fan commented, while another wrote: “Out of the WHOLE world. why would you choose American? I’m sorry I’m being judgy but I can’t understand.”
Clark has promised to share more details and answer fan questions in the lead-up to the family’s departure next month.
