Fifi Box has opened up about a disastrous 2012 interview with Jonah Hill, in the wake of the Hollywood actor’s recent brush with scandal.
Hill’s ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady this week went public with texts Hill allegedly sent her during their time together, claiming he was “emotionally abusive” to her and would manipulate and gaslight her.
Speaking on 101.9 The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick show today, Box told her co-hosts about her own tense run-in with Hill, back when she and former radio co-host Jules Lund interviewed him and 21 Jump Street co-star Channing Tatum during promotional activities for their film.
“I was sitting next to Jules, and I was really just focused on Channing. To me, it was an interview with Channing Tatum and the guy next to him,” she confessed.
All that changed when Lund posed a curly question of Hill that immediately raised the temperature in the room.
“It was a very uncomfortable - and I am going to say scary - moment, because he fired up,” she said. “It was provocative, and it did provoke him.”
The question was actually more of a statement: “Last time you were out here, Jonah, you hooked up with a friend of mine and you didn’t call her. A girl in every port? Natalie [was her name].”
Hill’s response was immediate: “Bulls**t. You’re talking to two people that have no shame in hiding anything from their past, right?” he said, of he and co-star Tatum.
“But we don’t know enough about you to dig up all the s**t from your past, to make fun of you on live radio. If I knew anything about you and I cared enough, I’d dig up embarrassing s**t from your past to rip on you about it – but I DON’T care.”
Back in a 2014 interview with news.com.au, Fox’s co-host Lund named Hill as one of the worst celebrities he’d ever encountered, saying he instantly regretted asking the actor such a personal question.
“He just went me, and I thought, ‘Oh f**k, I don’t have any power here, what was I thinking?’” he said of the decision to ask about the star’s Aussie hook-up.
“He tore me a new a**hole. He was just being a f**kwit.
“I think we (the radio station) got in trouble after that. The same touring company were reluctant to give us an interview with Rihanna because they weren’t impressed with me, but I wasn’t impressed with Jonah. He was just showing off in front of Channing Tatum.”
Fifi and Jules aren’t the only ones to speak up about Hill this week – former Real Housewives reality star Bethenny Frankel this week shared that she was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno at around the same time, appearing on the same episode as Hill.
“He was a low-grade d**k,” she claimed.
“He was put upon and kind of treated me like he was … better than [me]. I felt like a loser and the nobody that I was.”
And former Nickelodeon actress Alexa Nikolas this week claimed Hill kissed her without her consent when she was 16 years old - an allegation he emphatically denied.
