It might have been briefly overshadowed by the antics of music guru Molly Meldrum, but Sir Elton John’s Australian tour is back on track and headed for Brisbane.
The 75-year-old pop veteran is bringing down the curtain on his six-decade career with the fittingly titled Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which comes to Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.

And song lists shared on website setlist.fm reveal the repertoire has remained unchanged throughout the Australian leg of the tour – giving a preview of what Brisbane fans can expect.
Opening with early hits Bennie and the Jets and Philadelphia Freedom, Sir Elton embarks on a career-spanning concert that takes in monster signature tunes such as Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man, Candle in the Wind, Crocodile Rock, Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting and I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues.
It would be a futile effort to cover all his hits, and chart-toppers that seem destined not to make the cut in Brisbane include Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, Daniel, Blue Eyes, Little Jeannie, Crystal, Passengers, Heartache All Over the World, Nikita, Healing Hands, The One and Can You Feel the Love Tonight.
Four of Sir Elton’s songs received a fresh lease on life with the mashup Cold Heart, featuring Dua Lipa and remixed by Australia’s PNAU, and concertgoers can expect it to kick off a three-song encore.
The two-and-a-half-hour show will then be rounded out with Your Song and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
