Two cars have been stolen after thieves broke into the home of former Broncos captain Darius Body and his wife Kayla share with their three daughters.
Mrs Boyd took to social media to share her shock at the break-in on Thursday night.
“Last night our home that we are currently renting in Bulimba got broken into whilst we were all asleep,” Kayla posted on her Instagram story.
The couple have three children Willow, 7, Romi, 3, and Gia, 2.
The intruders reportedly managed to bypass multiple security gates, entering from the rear of the home before snatching car keys, and fleeing with two vehicles.
Mrs Boyd took to Instagram to reveal the distressing ordeal: “Both cars stolen, Darius’s sponsor car and the loan vehicle I’ve been driving.”
“They entered via the side of the property through x4 gates, and broke in through the rear of the property, came into our home, walked through the house took the car keys and took both cars.”
The break-in has shaken the Boyd family, particularly since the intruders were so close to where they and their three young daughters were sleeping.
While expressing relief that no-one was hurt, Kayla said she felt “sick in my gut”.
“I just feel absolutely violated and feel really sick in my gut knowing there were people in our sacred space.”
This comes just one month after the home of Olympian Susie O’Neill in Brisbane’s west was broken into while her and her family were asleep.
