A record 2000 students will take the floor at the 2024 Creative Generation – State Schools Onstage for four incredible performances spread across a massive weekend in July.
The theme this year is “Absolutely Everybody”, which will take audiences through the history of CGEN, highlighting the diversity of students and showcasing the amazing talent coming out of Queensland’s state schools.
The performance weekend will celebrate 20 years of entertainment, education, and of course, passion for the arts.

Students from across 168 Queensland schools will flock to Brisbane to begin preparation for the highly anticipated event including from the Torres Strait, Woree, Trinity Bay, Innisfail, Tully, Longreach, Gympie, Murgon, Beaudesert, and Toowoomba.
Three days of final touch-ups and rehearsals are undergone at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre when the regional casts join after months of learning remotely.
Four performances are staged at the BCEC from Thursday, July 18 through Saturday, July 20.
The three-day showcase will feature singing, dancing, dramatic and orchestral performances, solo instrumentalists, aerial performances and more.
