The Block: Suzi threatened with withdrawal of prizemoney after unsanctioned interviews

UPDATE: The future of controversial Block contestant Suzi Taylor is up in the air, after the reality TV star claimed an executive from Channel 9 had threatened her.

SUZI Taylor has flown to Melbourne to meet with her management after potentially losing her payout from The Block.

Taylor’s $174,500 cash payout is still up in the air after she broke her contract.

The Courier-Mail understands the former Penthouse pet jetted to Melbourne last night and has been in meetings with her management all day.

A Nine Network spokeswoman has refused to comment on whether they will take action over the Gold Coast mother ignoring the terms of her contract.

Yesterday a shaken Taylor told The Courier-Mail that a network executive had threatened her over breaching her contract.

When contacted yesterday her manager Stephen Bucknall said she had not heard from 9 since their threats.

“We have not heard anything today,” Bucknall said.

He said Taylor would be out of contract with Channel 9 on February 26.

“Once the term of the contract with Channel 9 (is up) there will be an announcement about Suzi’s future,” he said.

On Monday Taylor said she would love to have a career in TV, radio or film.

Earlier, The Courier-Mail reported Channel 9 is threatening to strip Gold Coast The Block contestant Suzi Taylor of her $174,500 prizemoney after claims she has breached her contract with the network.

Taylor, who is trying to rebuild her image after her controversial stint on the show, was contacted by the network yesterday after she undertook a number of media interviews without the program’s consent.

Taylor won $174,500 when the Melbourne apartment she renovated with her friend and co-star Vonnie Cosier sold last month.

“(Nine) are threatening not to give me the money from the auction,” Taylor told The Courier-Mail yesterday.

The mother-of-three had vowed to rebuild her life and career after completing a stint in rehab for depression.

“I don’t mind being the first one to say that I needed help and I went and sought it,” Taylor said.

“It was a mixture of anxiety, stress and depression and being on a top-rating show.”

A spokesman for Channel 9 confirmed they had spoken to Taylor about breaching her contract.

“Suzi has broken her contract by talking to the media,” the spokesman said.

“We have told her the terms of her contract many times.”

The reality star has been at the centre of controversy since her appearance on the show with naked shots on a boat, non-stop partying and a close relationship with veteran Nine entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins.

The pair were pictured cuddling up while out together after meeting at a Nine event.

Yesterday Taylor denied a relationship with the thrice-married Wilkins.

“We are just friends,” she said. “I see him as a mentor, he has been a great friend to me. I can see how it might look like that, but it isn’t.”

Taylor has plans to move her family to Brisbane next year and explore the possibilities of a career in the media.

“It is time for a fresh start,” she said.

“My daughter has just graduated primary school so the plan is for us all to now move up to Brisbane.”
