The Bachelor Australia season 10 will move to the Gold Coast in a filming coup

The Bachelor is moving to the Glitter Strip.
After nine seasons south of the border, Queensland has nabbed the popular dating series, with season 10 of the show to be filmed on the Gold Coast in the coming months.
Hosted by Brisbane expat Osher Gunsberg, the Channel 10 show will showcase idyllic Queensland destinations to its prime time audience and was supported through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.
“The Bachelor and the Gold Coast is a perfect match,” Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.
“Production of this reality TV series will create around 80 local jobs and contribute an estimated $4.1 million into the Queensland economy, with flow-on benefits for our hospitality and tourism sectors.”
It’s the first time The Bachelor will be filmed outside NSW and follows an influx of reality TV series moving to the Sunshine State, including the past two seasons of Channel 10’s Australian Survivor.
“Leading on from these successful projects, we were able to demonstrate to Warner Bros. International Television and again to Channel 10 that Queensland is a perfect destination for reality formats,” Screen Queensland chief executive Kylie Munnich said.
After Jimmy Nicholson and Holly Kingston found love on the show last year, Channel 10 is yet to announce this season’s Bachelor or which Gold Coast venue will become The Bachelor mansion.
Applications are open now via My Casting Net for single men and women aged 21 to 50, with filming to take place for around 12 weeks between May and July.
Warner Bros. International Television Production’s managing director Michael Brooks said he “can’t think of a more perfect backdrop for our iconic Bachelor franchise.”
It joins a slate of recent productions secured into the Gold Coast region, including Disney+ original series Nautilus, which is currently filming at Village Roadshow Studios, season two of Tim Minchin’s Foxtel series Upright, also in production, and a recently announced Godzilla vs. Kong sequel.
