TAYLOR Swift fans have been told to leave their bags at home for her Brisbane concert on Saturday.

Suncorp Stadium released a statement stating that all backpacks, and bags bigger than A3 size (30cm x 40cm), would be banned for security reasons.

The ban, which was also imposed at the Ed Sheeran concert last Saturday, upset some fans, particularly due to confusion over the fact all backpacks were banned even if under A3 size.

Suncorp General Manager Allan Graham said the move was part of the overall assessment of security arrangements in conjunction with the Queensland Police Service and concert promoters.

He said the bag restrictions also prevented delays at the entrance gate.

“We didn’t have any complaints on the night,” he said.

“I think that everyone appreciated that it made it quicker and easier to get in and out.

“We still had to cloak about 500 bags on the night but are hoping the message will spread for Taylor Swift and that will make it easier for everyone.”

Meanwhile, Swift is bringing a very special guest along for the ride on her Australian tour.

Her little brother Austin Swift has travelled Down Under for the final shows of her 1989 world tour.

The siblings are very close, with Taylor mentioning him in some of her hits and Austin also accompanying his sister to several awards ceremonies.

Since arriving last week, Austin has been documenting his holiday on Instagram.

He sent a message to his friends back in the US about the holiday season. “Happy belated Thanksgiving from Sydney,” he said. He has also been taken by the urban landscape, posting photos from a park in Sydney.
