Taylor Swift renowned for giving back to her fans

NOT only is she famous for her music, Taylor Swift is making a name for being open and accessible to her legion of fans.

TAYLOR Swift is not only famous for her music — she is constantly interacting with fans around the world and doing gestures not often seen by big celebrity figures.

With too many things to list individually, we have picked the top eight gestures Swift has done for her fans over the years.

1. “Swiftmas”

Last year from around mid-November, Taylor Swift spent her Christmas buying, wrapping and delivering gifts to her fans. 32 lucky Tumblr followers received boxes in the mail with personalised messages. Fans flooding social media with their excitement and so the event was dubbed “Swiftmas”.

2. Donations

Tay Tay was crowned 2014’s most charitable celebrity. One of her most memorable donations was when she donated all proceeds of her 1989 single “Welcome to New York” to New York public schools. Swift has also donated to countless charities including UNICEF, Stand Up To Cancer, Red Cross, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Habitat for Humanity.

3. Secret Album Listenings

In anticipation of her 1989 album release, Taylor invited 89 fans from each location (New York, Los Angeles, Rhode Island, Nashville and London) into her home to listen to the album prior to its release. She baked for them, posed for pictures, hold her awards and play with her cats.

4. Fans in Shake It Off Video

Swift’s popular Shake It Off video clip features some of her fans who had written letters or posted on Twitter and Instagram. The fans had to keep it all a secret until the video was released.

5. Social Media Queen

Tay is quite the social media queen. She has made it known that she lurks around Instagram on her fan’s pages and leaves comments to help inspire them and leave them positive feedback. With the help of fans she then created a Tumblr account and began interacting with fans and reblogging them.

6. Attending a fan’s bridal shower

When a fan sent her an invitation to her wedding, Taylor already had an obligation — so she decided to attend the fan’s bridal shower instead. She flew to Ohio with gifts and sure gave her one hell of a surprise. She then continued the relationship and even flew the fan to New York to present the Billboard Woman of the Year award to her.

7. Taylor’s generosity

Last year Swift was being interviewed in New York’s Central Park when a fan spotted her and paddled across the lake to meet her. Tay posed for a photo with the fan, and when she said she and her friends were going to Chipotle, the singer took $90 out of her wallet to pay for their meal. She also sent a fan $1989 (get it?) to a fan to help her pay off her college tuition fees.

8. Tracking down fans

After following back some fans on Tumblr, there have been several times when Tay Tay has tracked down her fans. After one fan announced on Tumblr she would be attending the Grammys to see Tay, Swift asked where she was sitting and tracked her down for a few selfies. Also earlier this year, Tay was going to appear on a radio breakfast show, and one fan decided to camp out the front for 20 hours in the cold, and of course Swift tracked her down for a quick chat and some photos.
