The lead actor of the Star Wars sequel trilogy has delivered a “Rey” of hope to some sick Queensland fans.

Star Wars actor Daisy Ridley delighted local fans by paying a special virtual visit to the Queensland Children’s Hospital yesterday.

The British actor, who plays the lead role of Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, spent close to an hour answering questions via video link from fans at the Brisbane hospital, including Harry, Michael and Sofia.

Ridley was Juiced TV’s final virtual visitor for 2020, joining the likes of Johnny Depp, Chris Hemsworth, Margot Robbie and Paul Rudd in lifting the spirits of Queensland’s sick kids during the global pandemic.

“You’re all amazing usually but I’m sure now is particularly difficult so… what you do is amazing and the joy you bring people is amazing,” Ridley told the nursing staff.

“Keep on keeping on.”

Answering questions from fans at the hospital, Ridley said if her character could be related to anyone she would have picked Han Solo “because working with Harrison (Ford) was so awesome”.

She admitted she kept her lightsabre from the film in a secret location because she was concerned someone might try to steal it.

The 28-year-old also revealed she had been fired from her first acting job.

“I was no good, so they told me to leave after the first week and not come back,” she recounted.

“I remember being so crushed. But now I think it happened for a reason.”
