Shannon Noll’s sausage roll moment on the Central Coast

Enjoying a little weekend escape, Confidential was bemused to see the former Australian Idol singer’s name spray painted on a park bench at Picnic Point Reserve near The Entrance Skate Park.

What makes the graffiti interesting is that it is simply Noll’s name with no art or statement.

“I’ve always been grateful for all the support up on the Central Coast, it is where a mate of mine on a late night bus first heard the line, ‘let’s stop for a Shannon Noll’,” Noll told Confidential. “That’s when my mate discovered it meant a sausage roll.”

A local told Confidential the graffiti appeared about a year ago and has remained since.

Noll is of course one of our most famous singers, having got his start on the first season of Australian Idol alongside Guy Sebastian.

“It’s been a good while since I’ve released an album, even though I’ve been writing the whole time, and I’m so proud to say that these songs are the best of all the songs I have written,” he said last month. “I can’t wait to see what my fans think of it, because I couldn’t be happier.”

His upcoming gigs across NSW include stops in Gymea, Dubbo, Ballina and Laurieton.

“I’m champing at the bit to go play them (new songs) live. There were a couple of years where I didn’t play as much, but (the album) has revitalised me,” he said. “I’m a bit more in the moment again and enjoying what’s happening, rather than worrying about what’s around the corner. It’s back to being lots of fun.”
