AUSSIE model Shanina Shaik, who will walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show this week, has stood up for the lingerie giant amid scrutiny that the famous lingerie brand has snubbed curvy models.

AUSSIE model Shanina Shaik has stood by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show amid scrutiny that the famous lingerie brand has snubbed curvy models.

Shaik, who is returning to the runway for the world’s most famous fashion show after two years of missing out, said the brand has always promoted healthy women in the show.

“I think that over the years Victoria’s Secret has opened up to more diversity … I think we will see more and more in the coming years,” she said.

“The girls who walk for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show work really hard to be their fittest and healthiest.”

Shaik said she had been increasing her fitness program to be in the best shape for the televised event.

“I am in the gym everyday working out twice a day. It is tough but it is worth it,” she said.

Recent married to muscican DJ Ruckus, Shaik said he man will be cheering her on at the event.

“He will be there at the show to support me. He is super proud of me,” Shaik said.

“Married life has been great. My husband and I travel so much, we are rarely in the same place at the same time.”

She will fly into New York today for her final fitting for the show. Shaik is one of four Australian models who made the cut this year.

Kelly Gale, Duckie Thot and Alannah Walton will all strutt their stuff at the fashion event which will feature performances from Shawn Mendes and The Chainsmokers.
