Gold Coast influencer Ellidy Pullin has shared a touching tribute to her lost love, champion snowboarder Alex “Chumpy’ Pullin, on the anniversary of his death.
Pullin, a world champion and Olympic snowboarder, died after a shallow-water blackout in a freak spearfishing accident at Palm Beach, near the couple’s southern Gold Coast home, on July 8, 2020.
Ms Pullin had IVF treatment using Chumpy’s sperm to conceive a daughter named Minnie, who was born in October 2021.
She and Minnie took to Instagram overnight to pay tribute to Pullin, who was 32.
Ms Pullin posted a video of Chumpy, who was also a talented musician, playing Eric Clapton’s hit song Tears in Heaven.
“This night 4 years ago we fell asleep together having no clue what the next day would bring,” she wrote.
“Life is so f***ing fragile. Hug your people, cherish them, tell them you love them.”
Ms Pullin also shared a beautiful black and white video of her asking Minnie where her dad was.
“Up in the sky,” Minnie replied, before asking her tearful mum if she was okay.
Ms Pullin has become a successful businesswoman, including running the popular Darling, Shine! podcast with her best friend Chloe Fisher, wife of international DJ Paul ‘The Fish’ Fisher.
Ms Pullin recently revealed that four years after Chumpy’s death, she was open to finding love again.
“Absolutely open to dating, actually excited about it, it’s a f**king jungle out there though,” she told Chloe Fisher on their podcast.
“It would be sick to be walking through Woolworths and someone just picks the same apple as me.”
