HE’S is the dark horse who has captured the hearts of four lucky ladies — but behind Farmer Wants A Wife Lance Jones’ cupid’s arrow is a sad past.
The Queensland man, 52, has made his debut on the Channel 9 series last night, dubbed as a true gentleman on the reality TV series.
“I like to hold a woman’s hand, not rubbing their leg up or anything, I just think it’s nice,” he said on the program.
“I really don’t mind giving them a kiss and a cuddle in the street, I’m not adverse to that.
“I like a woman in jeans and a shirt with the collar up during the day then it’s nice to slip into a dress and heels at night.”
But things haven’t been all rosy for farmer Jones.
Speaking to New Idea, he revealed he had hardly spoken to his son Quentin since he was 10 years old.

“I haven’t really been in that much contact with Quentin. To tell you the honest truth, I hadn’t seen him since he was about 10 years old and it was only early last year that he found me on Facebook.”
Jones married Quentin’s mother but the pair split after five years in 1995 because “it just didn’t work.”
“It wasn’t a bad marriage,” he told the glossy magazine.
“I think I was too much of a bushy for her and she liked the shops and stuff. (Quentin) will come home one day.
“He’ll pop up on Facebook every now and then and say, ‘How are you doing Dad?’.”
Jones chose Suzie, Karen, Lorraine and Lisa to join him on his Rockhampton farm — nearly all the women were brought to tears as they heard their names called.
“I just felt like this could be it for me. I think it’s meant to be,” Lorraine said.
The Farmer Wants A Wife airs on Mondays from 8.45pm on Channel 9.
