WE may be seeing more of Kate Ritchie, Terri Irwin and Kerri-Anne Kennerley than we ever expected if TV producers wishes come true.
Keen to capitalise on the ratings success of its The Real Full Monty special, Channel 7 has commissioned a female version of the one-off TV special that was based on the hit 1997 movie.
The Real Full Monty, Ladies’ Night will see eight women bare all to raise awareness for women’s health and Confidential understands Irwin is at the top of the networks dream list of celebrities.
“It will be more burlesque than striptease,” a production source said.
The show won’t air until next year but it is understood Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Jackie O and Samantha Jade are also on the list. Seven is also looking to cast from its roster of female talent with names like Sally Obermeder, Sam Frost, Ada Nicodemou and Lynne McGranger in the mix.
“It is news to me. I am all for women’s health though,” Obermeder laughed when contacted.
It is safe to say Seven itself was surprised by the recent ratings success of the male version, which drew a national audience of 1.9 million viewers.
That episode featured Shane Jacobson, Matt Cooper, Brendan Jones, Jett Kenny, Sam Mac, Kris Smith, Campbell Brown and Brian Taylor.
