THE TV ratings have landed, showing how Seven’s star-studded special showing performed against Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior after it caused a stir on Google.

WELL, it would appear Australians have no problem with partial nudity on free-to-air.

Last night’s one-off TV special The Real Full Monty, which saw a group of male celebrities strip bare to raise awareness of men’s health, was a triumph for Seven.

A whopping 1.03 million (five city metro) tuned in, making it the third highest rating program of the night behind the news on Channel 7 and Channel 9.

Ninja Warrior drew a season-high of 974,000 viewers for Nine, and Ten’s MasterChef attracted a decent 872,000 sets of eyeballs.

The stars bared all in front of a live audience, filmed in Sydney’s Enmore Theatre in April, but well-timed onstage pyrotechnics hid their private parts from the audiences’ eyes.

(Except for a small hitch that left Jett Kenny, the 23-year-old son of Lisa Curry and Grant Kenny, completely exposed)

Kenny stripped on stage alongside AFL star Campbell Brown, NRL great Matt Cooper, actor Shane Jacobson, radio personality Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones, Sunrise’s Sam Mac, model Kris Smith and AFL commentator Brian ‘BT’ Taylor.

The event paid off with Australians taking to social media to praise the star’s efforts.

“Thank you all so much for your beautiful messages overnight,” Shane Jacobsen said in a post on Instagram following the show.

“It was so much better than I thought to be honest,” wrote one supporter,

And another: “Bloody great idea, and congratulations to all the guys, yourself included, for being gutsy enough to stand up there! #diecancerdie”.

Kris Smith promoted the event on his Instagram account prior to taking the stage.

“Myself and 7 other brave men laid all bare to raise awareness for men’s cancer,” he said.

The message was loud and clear with Australians saying they would be seeing their doctor after seeing the show.

A female fan responded: “You guys rocked it. Absolutely enjoyed it and all for a wonderful cause. My fiancee watched it with me and is making an appointment for a check up. You boys definitely got the word out there so thankyou.”

And another: “Awesome job guys for a great cause. My dad has prostate cancer. He is doing well.”

Google saw a spike in searches for information on prostate cancer at the time the show aired.

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia CEO Jane Endacott said anything that gets people talking about men’s health is a good thing. Even a striptease show.

“Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia is delighted to see our Australian celebrities are coming together to support men’s health and raise awareness of prostate cancer,” she said.

“Anything that gets Aussie’s talking about this important issue helps.”

The foundation advises that men over 50, and men over 40 with a family history of breast and prostate cancer, talk to their GP about their prostate health.
