NOVA 106.9 breakfast host David “Luttsy” Lutteral has hosed down rumours about a romance with swimming champion Emily Seebohm on morning radio in Brisbane today.
After several media outlets published stories suggesting the pair were in a relationship, Luttsy admitted they speak every day, attend all of Brisbane’s hottest events together and aren’t afraid to cosy-up, but insisted they’re just mates.
‘We’re aren’t dating, she’s my go-to happy person,” he told Nova listeners this morning.
“I’m very happy, she’s amazing.
“My life is easy, her life isn’t easy, she’s got world champs coming up.”
Rumours the pair were dating began swirling back when they were attended the ARC Dining and Wine Bar launch together in March, with Luttsy heard gushing about Seebohm at the Bridge to Brisbane 2019 launch he attended with her at Kangaroo Point later that month.
The pair have since spent plenty of time together both in the public eye and away from it and, despite their insistence there was no blossoming romance, the rumour mill really went into overdrive when Luttsy featured Seebohm on last Sunday’s episode of Great Day Out, which centred on how he spent his free time.

Sharing an image of the duo dining together at Jellyfish restaurant to promote his segment on the Channel 7 lifestyle program, Luttsy went on to ‘like’ a comment dubbing them “Queensland’s power couple”.
Speaking to The Sunday Mail at Saturday’s KIRIN Stakes Day at Eagle Farm Racecourse after being spotted holding hands at the Gambaro Moet and Chandon Ball on Friday night, the pair said they were “not dating”.
“We’re in the same social circle,” Seebohm said.
“I don’t understand the fascination with it, we’re just good mates and we go to a lot of things together because we have fun together and I think that’s the most important thing, that we’re happy.”
Luttsy told The Sunday Mail they shared a special friendship that he valued but they were not a couple.
“We are not dating,” he said.
“She’s one of the coolest chicks I’ve ever met in my life, she’s my go to happy person.”
Backstroker Seebohm split from her fellow swimmer ex Mitch Larkin in July amid rumours he was having an affair, which he has since vehemently denied.
