DUA Lipa has cancelled her shows supporting R&B superstar Bruno Mars in Brisbane to have dental surgery.

The popular British star issued a statement apologising to fans ahead of the first show at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Wednesday night.

The IDGAF singer said she had been advised by doctors to “undergo immediate dental surgery” to remove her wisdom teeth after performing in “awful pain” for previous shows.

“I’m so sorry to have to cancel some of my support shows with Bruno,” she said in the statement.

“I’ve been performing with an awful pain due to my wisdom teeth and as advised by my dentist and oral surgeon I have to have them imminently removed.”

The chart-topping star was the highly-anticipated support act for the Australian and New Zealand legs of Mars’s 24K Magic Tour, with the pair having just performed a string of shows in Melbourne.

Lipa said thanked fans for their understanding and said she hoped to rejoin the tour as soon as possible.

“I have been enjoying this tour so much and am upset that life has gotten in the way but hopefully I’ll have a speedy recovery and make it back as soon as possible,” she said.

Thank you for your understanding.”

The 22-year-old took to Twitter on Monday to share a scan showing she had 33 teeth — rather than the normal 32 — and complained that her “face hurt”.
